I reviewed these notes in early October 2022. No changes apart from the Marina Tariff
UPDATE SUMMER 2021

I reviewed these notes at the end of September 2021. We have noted the closure of Force 4 in the text. New prices but otherwise all the same.

Regretably they have closed Force 4 chandeliers so do not expect to get any spare parts. The nearest is now Cardiff.

UPDATE SPRING 2018
Written by Don Thomson | 25th Apr 2018
This marina has been going for a longtime now and pretty well complete. There has been a branch of Force 4 overlooking the first basin of the marina for several years now. There are new prices for this season but nothing else has changed.
Bad backs don't have to go far to get fixed. Great variety of Good Eating

I often forget that I am not as youthful as I used to be and injure my back trying to do too much. As a result I tend to find massage practitioners who are capable and know what they are doing close to most ports I enter.
On Trawler road right next to the marina is where this guy works out of his apartment that overlooks marina.http://www.thenatural-touch.co.uk/
He is a good safe pair of hands and 2 visits had me thinking I was youthful again.

On Swansea marina and Swansea - Fantastic - do not miss - the city has a good vibe, great restaurants that deliver to Marina and very friendly people.
I would particularly recommend the Nishimura sushi and noodle bar for deliveries. I would also recommend the AWA bar about 15 mins walk away for great Lebanese/middle Eastern food.

Update 2013
Written by dononshytalk | 19th Feb 2013
These notes were updated by Don T on the 19th February 2013. We have included an estimate for the 2013 prices and a few bits of local knowledge otherwise very little change.
Swansea Marina the Marina in the Heart of the City
Written by steverow | 27th Oct 2010
Great place to be, with berths here quite a bit cheaper than commercial counterparts. A 35ft boat will cost you about £2500 per year to moor. Loads to do, plenty of shops, a big Tesco's just over the road, Sainsburys an 8 minute walk away. The Yacht club is great, offering meals and sustainance to all comers, with an extremely comfortable upstairs lounge, with padded buttoned leather sofa's, reminiscent of a London "Gentlemans" club.
Loads of night life unparalleled for a Small City and I think better than Birmingham's FI. Hundreds of eateries, and nothing really more than ten minutes or so walk away from the Marina. For Chinese Take-Aways, try the "Wah Hing" just off Kingsway up by the Rugby ground, their crispy beef is to die for. It's a town very much geared up for Student Life and so very vibrant with a Large UoW campus between Swansea and the Mumbles.
We love it here, it's our second spell with two different boats, after an unsuccessful detour to the Exe.
The Marina is clean, well tended, safe and well looked after by a very caring staff, under the guidance of Steve Kerns the Marina manager. Nothing is too much trouble. Barry, the Bosun/Yard Manager lifts and tends boats with geat care in the yard, and all the usuals are available, lift and pressure wash, free yard winter storage for berthholders, lift and hold..etc etc.

Highly recommended for both long term and short term berthing.
