Update June 2022

I reviewed these notes and spoke to the HM at Eyemouth. They are still "very much" open to visiting craft on the East pontoon but would appreciate advanced warning of an intended stop over. The wind farm is as far as they can confined to the North basin of the harbour.. prices have increased and the showers cost 2 X 50p coins (ie £1,00)

Update May 2022

The visitor's pontoon has the label taped over and is in heavy use by windfarm vessels. The harbour master will find space but there is quite a lot of rafting-up going on. Booking ahead is highly advisable.

The site of the old boat museum is being developed with 'pods' and the like. Phase 1 might be ready later this summer.

Prices have gone up. Flat fee is now £25 and showers are now £2.50. If we had showered that would have beein £30 a night for a 7m boat. Can anyone find anything this expensive outside the Solent and Poole Harbour?

UPDATE SPRING 2021
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 20th May 2021
I reviewed these notes in May 2021. They have been working hard on the depths here so that the reports at the end of the last decade which were becoming very adverse may now well be history. Let us know what you find. There's a new pontoon on the West wall of the Inner Harbour. The northern deep water basin is now being reserved for off shore wind farm support. (so they will have to keep the entrance depth good!!)

Berwick is better

Called the Harbour master about visiting but it all seemed too much trouble. Berwick was more welcoming and has a new pontoon.

Update Spring 2016

These notes were reviewed by Don in Spring 2016. I still haven't ventured this far South so this continues to be an almanac stub. Prices have changed for 2016
Not for the faint hearted.

In fair conditions Eyemouth is a relatively easy entrance once you have negotiated the offshore reefs and 'Luff Hard' rock. Sort of gives you a clue don't you think. The way in leads between a pair of walls know as the 'Canyon' and then appears to open out but beware the submerged posts by the surge beach to starboard. The pontoons are further down past the fish dock and lifeboat to port.
